Pleasantly surprised this place is so close to the house...apps were great, dinner was good, I thoroughly enjoyed the Pallo Mango, the red and black beans were nicely seasoned, the skirt steak was tender, the meatball appetizer was a great start...saved the tomato salsa for my eggs in the morning it was that good. Service was attentive, observant, and speedy without being rushed. Will definitely return! Thank you for a nice dinner!

Brought my parents here for dinner because I've been sorely disappointed by the latin restaurants around here and enjoyed lunch so much that I had to bring them; I had the roast pork with herbs and garlic. My mother had the skirt steak with chimichurri. She asked for it medium rare and it was perfectly cooked and she loved the flavor. I tasted it and found it very tasty too! The person who REALLY out-ordered us was my dad, who got the Mojo Shrimp. Let me just tell you that we tried to steal as much of his dish as we could!!!! The shrimp was perfect and the juice it cooked in was so fantastic that we were sopping up the flavorful garlic citrusy juice with our delicious garlic bread!! The black beans were flavorful, the rice was great, and the SALAD--- God those dressings!!! I love the fresh light delicious creamy cilantro but now that I tried the house vinaigrette, I have a new favorite!!!! But my favorite thing by far is the papas rellenas, which are the best I have ever tasted. Just perfect for an appetizer. We gobbled two orders of them up and all of us exclaimed that they were delicious. We are latin so trust me that they are some of the best papas rellenas out there, so if you like them, THIS is the place to get them. I am a huge papa rellena fan, just think it's a homy tummy-warming treat. My only minor complaint that I could find to make is the plantains weren't sweet. Plantains in Latin food are wonderful because the sweetness gives your tastebuds a different flavor to make you enjoy the next savory bite. Goya makes nice frozen plantains in a giant bag and I always have them in my freezer because the plantains in the grocery stores around here are disappointing. Note that the food/service takes just a little longer than you experience at some place where everything is prepped and ready to go for high volume. The minor wait will be worth it!!!! Just enjoy the ambiance because you will be able to tell by the quality and flavor why it took a tiny bit longer!!

Great find. Just riding by at lunch time and decided to give it a try. Glad we did. Excellent Latin meat ball sub. Yucca fries were great. Many things on the menu sound intriguing. Looking forward to going back for dinner. Clean , nice decor & friendly staff.

BEST papa rellena I have ever tasted, EVER! Get them as an appetizer. The beans had wonderful flavor!! Every other latin place I've gone to in the are has such sad flavorless beans, they all need to come here and see how it's done. The yellow rice was tasty and perfectly cooked!! The slightly creamy but light house dressing was DELISH!! So light and fresh tasting that I drank what was left in my plate when I finished my salad. The let me try the sofrito sauce that their Pollo Guisado is cooked in and it is so savory and tasty and yummy, I will definitely be ordering that when my parents next come to town and I bring them here to try the fantastic latin food. I ordered the roast pork dinner to go and received plenty food: a half loaf of crisp hot fresh Cuban bread with garlic butter, a nice-size salad, beans, yellow rice and a healthy serving of pork. Everything was GREAT except that the pork was just okay. I love the use of garlic and herbs but the pork was missing the mild citrus element and slightly more salt that is traditional to latin pork. Really could have used the kick of a little lemon or what translates into "bitter orange" that is juice for the traditional mojo. The pork was also a bit tough for mojo pork (I like when it's cooked until it almost falls apart)--more like the consistency of a pork chop, so there were some hard or tendon-y parts that I didn't eat because the wrong consistency-- chewy parts kick in my gag reflex. I can't WAIT to go for lunch and have some bacalao like my grandma used to make. The lunch prices are tremendous!!!!!

3.5 but not yet a 4 Approach/Structure - A tough location and I hope Sazon makes it. Easy to park and even if their lot is full, the race/repair shop next door has a few spaces you can use. The owners have done a great job making this building look attractive and inviting, it's a pleasure to walk through the door. Service/Staff - After being greeted by the pleasant surroundings ( I was never a fan of the space before) the next thing you might notice is the willingness of the staff to make you feel welcome. The service was a little slow but they had only been open a week or so so I assume teething problems had yet to be worked out but all in all a pleasant visit. Menu/Value - I have to say I was a little shocked when the bill came through. It's not that that I didn't see the prices on the menu. It just felt like I was missing something from the evening with the amount that read on the check. If I was able to isolate one part of the evening that gave me this feeling I would say an upgrade on the flatware and stemware is needed and perhaps not quite so close to a 4 oz pour on the wine. Just my thoughts and they will not stop me visiting again in the near future.

I was a looking for a great Latin restaurant in the St. Pete area that pleased my "paladar" and I found it. Finally I don't have to drive all the way to West Tampa to find a good "mofongo con camarones a la criolla" (Puertorrican Dish), I have right around the corner. I looking forward to many visits.

3 1/2 stars for now. I'll come back to give it another try. Long wait. One entree was okay, the other was excellent. Nothing outstanding. Had my taste buds set in ready for flan and they were out.
